BMW Advance Diesel Engine: Expect the unexpected

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Evolution with a purpose! That's exactly what BMW revs up with its new high-profile, fuel efficient advanced diesel engine. The latest product, which conforms to the German manufacturer's Efficient Dynamics strategy, has been a tremendous success in Europe and has bagged the Engine of the Year award multiple times. The high-performance diesel engine has hit the US shores and met stringent US exhaust emission control measures in all 50 states.

BMW places the fuel-efficient engine under the hood of BMW 335d sedan and BMW X5 xDrive35d for the US market. The 3.0-liter, sequential dual-turbocharged, in-line 6-cylinder engine delivers a lusty 425 lb-ft of torque at 1750 rpm and a maximum of 265 hp. While the BMW 335d reaches 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds, the heavier X5 xdrive35d sprints to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. No other diesels in the US perform like this pair of BMW Advanced Diesel models, thanks to the strength of the V-8. Fuel economy is equally impressive at 23/33 mpg for the 335d sedan and 19/25 mpg for the X5 xDrive35d (city/highway).

Both models are available at BMW of New London, your local BMW dealer in New London, CT. Log on to http://www.bmwofnewlondon.com/ or visit the dealership in person to take a first look at the models and explore the BMW Advanced Diesel vehicles.
